Historic Grove

Before becoming one of the most exciting neighborhoods and one of the must-visit places in Miami, Coconut Grove, also known as “The Grove” by locals, was an independent city inhabited by Americans from the Northeastern region, Bahamian and British immigrants, most of them who were sailors, intellectuals and artists. In 1925, this place went to become one of the most prominent places to visit in Miami City and also a great place to live because of the ideal weather, and moreover, thanks the artistic and elegant style the residents have given to the neighborhood throughout the years.

Art for your eyes

The historic background of The Grove has made it possible for the neighborhood to be considered as an eclectic location where many architectural styles are present in the buildings, houses, gardens and other constructions, reminiscing about the Old Spanish and other European styles. In addition, and caused by the Hippie Revolution that took place in the 60s, the village adopted a bohemian and vintage style that is one of the landmarks of this spot.

If you are into art, Coconut Grove offers you the best of the artistic monuments such as Vizcaya Museum, a stunning mansion located to the north, acknowledged as a magnificent work of architectural art, since it has different styles that makes this site unique resembling the Renaissance style.

On the other hand, if you like modern architecture better, you can visit Brickell Avenue, where the main attraction are the big and luxurious mansions with exuberant gardens and the astonishing high-rise office buildings.

Best seafood of the city

The king of the food scene in the village is, unsurprisingly, seafood, but the mixture of styles in terms of architecture and arts is no different to the food experience, so you can be sure that if you are at The Grove to try different food, this is the right place to be. If you would like to try something different, there is a wide variety, compared to other locations in Miami, of restaurants ready to present you the best of Italian, Thai and French food.

Alternatively, Farmer’s market is the ideal place to find the freshest food every Saturday in Grand Avenue; there are options for organic and vegan lovers. Additionally, Coconut Grove Weekly market is also available to find every kind of products and even try some of the tastiest food available and variety such as sushi or vegan food.

Sensational view

The Grove has a beautiful view to the Biscayne Bay, and you can get there easily by walking or by bicycle considering its close proximity. Besides, you can admire the Barnacle Historic State Park,
which was once home to one of the most influential inhabitants of The Grove; this is a great place to take a picnic with your family and friends or you can spot some of the most exotic species of birds, since this location that attracts a variety of birds that come to visit.

Great place to call home

Coconut Grove counts with a residential zone surrounded by the best of nature and luxury. It is also the perfect place to spend a great night tasting the best seafood or get the party started at one of the coolest bars at the zone. If you prefer a day plan, you can take a walk to the beautiful malls, enjoy some time outdoors, or you can stop by the shore and enjoy watching the sailboats and yachts go by.

One of the hotspots of The Grove is CocoWalk, where locals and tourists reunite to get top access to the best entertainment, from amazing food to cinemas and lush shops.

Overall, this neighborhood is family-oriented thanks to the wide diversity of green areas, local businesses where you can find everything you need, and the relaxing atmosphere (related to the calmness of the sea) that can help you escape from the hecticness of some other parts of Miami. You can walk by the bay or in the residential area anytime, because the village is a friendly and safe place for everybody.
